Conway Children’s Photography – Baby Caleb!

A few days ago the family and I took off for a weekend visit to see family in the up-state. We had a lot of fun too, we even went to a retirement party!!

During our visit, Baby Caleb and I had a impromptu photo session, we made a make-shift studio in the living room on the couch, maybe not the ideal location but it worked quite well.

Caleb is a sportsman too, he loves baseball, football, well…any sport actually!, as he isn’t quite ready to determine the best one for himself I don’t think, but 5 month old Caleb did great during our photo shoot. I can’t wait until we can go visit again and this time bring my studio lights and proper equipment! :)

Here are a few pictures from Caleb’s photo session. I hope mom and dad like them!
To see more of Caleb’s images, visit his gallery at James Morton Photography – Baby Caleb!

Conway Landscape Photographer – RiverTown Artwork

Something a little different for a change.

I have had these images for a while now, and recently decided to do a blog post about them. A few landmarks from around here at home.

First up, we have the old Conway Post Office, it was built around 1807. It is now home to the Horry County Museum. While it might not be all glorious as other buildings, it has stood the test of time and a testament to the builders of the day.

Next is the Peanut Warehouse, during it’s life it has served as a tobacco and fertilizer warehouse and hence it’s current name, a Peanut Warehouse. It helped define this river community during the turn of the century. Today it is used as a venue for weddings and party’s and social events.

Here we have the Waccamaw River Bridge that will lead you to Conway’s main street. Built in 1937, it has become a landmark in Conway. When someone says “meet me under the bridge” you know exactly where they are talking about. Many events are held each year under the bridge, to name one, the Bluegrass on the Waccamaw, a great Bluegrass music get together. This photo does not show the section that extends a fair distance over land where events are held.

Next is the Horry County Courthouse located on 3rd Avenue in downtown Conway. Built in 1908 it had only one main section and in the 50′s, two side wings were added, and yet as time moves on, even more has been added. The majestic Oak trees, glorious Magnolias, and spectacular Azaleas,  make this building really stand out.

I hope to capture more historic building and landmarks in and around Conway as time permits.

Thanks for looking.

Conway Children’s Photography – Sweet Baby Rylee

A wonderful Saturday evening spent with beautiful baby Rylee. We met at the Riverwalk in Conway. The evening was pleasant, maybe a tad on the warm side, but the late afternoon color and scenery were amazing as was Rylee! It really wouldn’t have mattered where we shot, as Rylee was so darn cute! Her mom had the cutest outfits for Rylee, I loved the blue dress with the R on it!
It’s amazing how time flies when you’re having fun, Rylee stayed true like a trooper though, nearly 2 hours long! She didn’t seem to mind having her pictures made, and toward the end of our shoot, she actually started to dance, she was having a blast as much as I was!

I had a lot of fun during our photo shoot and hope Rylee and family enjoy the sneak peek!

Sweet Baby Rylee!

Conway Family Photos – 22 years…and going strong!

Today marks my 22nd wedding anniversary! On April 4th 1987, I said I do, too my wife Gail, my best friend, lover, and confidant!

I won’t pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me, love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak in the knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.

I can’t believe how fast we are nearing a quarter of a century of being together, a quarter century!
It seems only yesterday we met; Love began at that moment, has grown over time, and lasts for eternity!

Time surely flies when your having so much fun, I truly do love her more and more each day. There is no feeling more comforting than knowing you are right there, next to the one you love.

Gail, I love you. I am so lucky to have you beside me, in the things we do and the places we go. You are my right hand, I would be lost without you.

All My Love,
James

P.S. maybe I can get a couple pictures posted to the blog later today, for now, here is a rose. :)

Conway Family Photos – Woo Hoo Congrats Jay!

I have been meaning to post this since Saturday, I know, I’m slack!

Anywho, Jay, my oldest son who is a Junior in high school, went to a district FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) competition Saturday, in Sumter, SC.

He was one of about 300 students competing in various categories. His chosen group was Technology Concepts. Guess what? He came in first place!!

I’m really proud of him and what he has achieved so far this year.
His next stop, will be a all expense paid trip to the the state competition.

Against his protest, I’m posting a photo of his trophy, he said he felt like he was “flaunting it”, I say flaunt what you have achieved, be proud of your accomplishments!

Congrats Jay! May you have many!
