Free portrait session giveaway!

On my Facebook page located HERE, I am having a free portrait session giveaway that will be given to one of my fans!

I’m giving away a free 1 hour outdoor portrait session (limited to 4 people max) including the free CD of images from the portrait session to a fan of James Morton Photography!

The portrait session will be held here in Conway, SC.

All you have to do to be in the drawing for the giveaway is, suggest James Morton Photography fan page to all your friends, using the “Suggest to Friends” link under my fan page profile photo. Pretty easy huh! Then just wait until we reach 650 fans!

The giveaway will only be available until we reach 650 fans. After that, I will pick a fan at random to be the winner.

That’s about it,

1. Suggest my fan page to your friends.

2. When we reach 650 fans I’ll pick a winner!

If for any reason you can not use the session giveaway, you can pass it along to someone else.

Good Luck!

Conway Portrait Photographer | Shadow Play

The sun was shining brightly today. So I thought I would have a little play with the camera phone!

Shadows make interesting images. I hope to do more “fun stuff” on a regular basis.:)

First up, we have “The Conversation” which turned out to be good news! lol

Second, we have the shin ding, party stomp, do-a-little-dance routine.

Hope you enjoyed the “Shadow Play”

Until next time,

James…peace out…

Conway Photographer | Beautiful Day

Today is a beautiful day, a day where you just want to get out and walk. See things again that maybe you have seen before but in a different way, light, or mood. The birds flying and chirping, the wind blowing ever so gentle, the honey bees as they whisper by, the hint of plants and trees starting to sprout from a long cold winter… yes, it was a beautiful day!

It felt great getting out and walking around…I think I’m going to do it again this evening! :D

A few photos from from the first stroll today, more to come this evening.

Well, that’s it for now, I’ll be back with more from today.

John Johnston - These are great James. I admire folk who can just head out and take photos of random things – yet they look awesome. good work man. Lol at the Simon image :-)

James - Cheers John! I had great day today! Was nice to get out and walk.

Conway Wedding Photography – Brandi + Jason

The clock was getting closer to the 1PM wedding start time and I arrived about 28 minutes ahead of schedule. I watched the snow melt away, it would have been nice to have had wedding pictures with snow covered grounds and all, but sadly it wasn’t meant to happen. And that is fairly typical here in the south, we can have six inches of snowfall over night, but yet have it melt away by noon that day!

There was one awesome thing that did happen though, and that was the wedding between Brandi and Jason! It was great seeing the love that they share for one another. Their wedding reminded me of my own wedding too. They had a ceremony only wedding, just themselves, just the pastor and his wife, just Gail and I.

It was lovely, just them getting married and expressing their love for each other, seeing their smiles and happiness and I was there capturing it! It could not have been any better, even if there wasn’t any snow on the ground!

Here are a few photos from their day.

Brandi and Jason, you both are beautiful and you had a beautiful wedding. May you have much happiness and success!

James

johnlo - nicely done James. love the 4th img. Good job.

James - Thanks John! It’s one of my favorites too.

Conway Lifestyle Photographer – Snow Day 2010!

It has been awhile since I posted. Things seem to come and go in spurts and today is no exception! I have a wedding this afternoon and it also snowed last night!, which is a rare event for this area! We had about 5 inches of the white fluffy stuff, and it looked beautiful! I’m also super stoked for today’s wedding! It will be great getting some snow photos during the wedding.
A snow wedding in the south! Who wouda thunk it? Pretty cool if you ask me!

Here are some pictures from this morning, and I will be posting some wedding photos tomorrow.:)

Gail - I love my snow angel!!

Conway Landscape Photographer – RiverTown Artwork

Something a little different for a change.

I have had these images for a while now, and recently decided to do a blog post about them. A few landmarks from around here at home.

First up, we have the old Conway Post Office, it was built around 1807. It is now home to the Horry County Museum. While it might not be all glorious as other buildings, it has stood the test of time and a testament to the builders of the day.

Next is the Peanut Warehouse, during it’s life it has served as a tobacco and fertilizer warehouse and hence it’s current name, a Peanut Warehouse. It helped define this river community during the turn of the century. Today it is used as a venue for weddings and party’s and social events.

Here we have the Waccamaw River Bridge that will lead you to Conway’s main street. Built in 1937, it has become a landmark in Conway. When someone says “meet me under the bridge” you know exactly where they are talking about. Many events are held each year under the bridge, to name one, the Bluegrass on the Waccamaw, a great Bluegrass music get together. This photo does not show the section that extends a fair distance over land where events are held.

Next is the Horry County Courthouse located on 3rd Avenue in downtown Conway. Built in 1908 it had only one main section and in the 50’s, two side wings were added, and yet as time moves on, even more has been added. The majestic Oak trees, glorious Magnolias, and spectacular Azaleas,  make this building really stand out.

I hope to capture more historic building and landmarks in and around Conway as time permits.

Thanks for looking.
